It’s that time of year again! Time to focus on the New Year, the new you!

But how many times have we all made resolutions that we give up on after just a month or a week? Or worse, just after one day! Yikes!

But hey. It’s a new year. And time to turn a new page. Don’t give up on your resolutions. Keep the faith. This year can and will be different as long as you find the happy in your promises to yourself.

Start by asking yourself what is it you want out of 2019 – Who do you want to be? What do you want to achieve? – Wanna be kinder; to feel fitter and healthier? Have better grades? Enjoy happier relationships? … Next big question – How can you make this happen?

Here are 5 tips to set yourself on the path to success:

1. Pick the Right Resolution
Wanna be happy? Make a realistic resolution – and meaningful so you have the best chance to succeed. Start small. Start with just one resolution, and work to make it happen.

2. Make a Plan
As much as you and I would like it to, our “goal” sadly won’t just magically appear. So make a list of all the things you can do to achieve your goal. Don’t forget to list down all the “halangan” that could try to defeat you. So you’re prepared to take charge.

3. Form your Own Cheer-leading Squad
You don’t need to do this alone. Having a solid support system can help you stay motivated. Talk to your friends and family and get them to be your very own cheerleading squad. Better still, get them to join you!

4. Treat Yourself. Yes, You!
Treats are awesome kan. They make us feel happy and keep us motivated. So don’t forget to reward yourself every time you achieve your milestones. But don’t la binge treat yourself and throw away all your hard work.

5. Don’t Give Up!
We all have our ups and downs. We’re human ok. Sometimes, we will have a misstep. Doesn’t mean you’ve failed. The most important thing is to NOT give up. Show you’re boss – get back up; and get back on track.
